Trouble

This app has issues. Will not load and goes black while trying to load and stops. I dont suggest wasting money on this.

No volume?

Please fix this app

Not able to switch language in app.

This app is great except that one is unable to change the language within the app (videos, narration, text). You must change the language of the iOS of the iPhone or iPad to change the language. This is annoying especially if you are using multiple languages on a device.

Lng

Plz add possibility to choose a language. I use Eng as a main, but my daughter cant select Rus. Thank you.

Very cool app

Very cool app, especially movies.

Lots of promise

This is an excellent idea, but marred by poor implementation. With no way to zoom in or out on the sky, functionality is impaired. Furthermore, there are no settings for the number of stars displayed or how constellations are shown, so the actual night sky cannot be simulated for little eyes. This turns out to be an app for young eyes to look down at, not up from (unless they happen to live below 6.0 mag skies).

Excellent!

My three year old loves this, as much as I love the "grown up" version. Only suggestion, would be to add some games, like matching, or a puzzle, something that would enforce what is taught in the app. Great job!

Great app for teaching

My son loves this, and I sneak it away because it has such cool features. Great way to spend the early part of the night with the kiddos.

Meh...

My five year old loves anything having to do with space. I bought the app because I thought it would be a perfect compromise between adults Starbase to apps and ones designed for children. But after a few minutes with this app, my son wanted the adult version back. Im not sure who they think this app was meant for. Its certainly been dumbed down, but not in a good way. Each planet/constellation/star etc. only has a few short snippets of information. There is not much context and seems a little simpleton. At other points, it seems to be marketing to my child for instance suggesting he go see an IMAX movie. I wish I had my three bucks back.

Accurate!

This app is awesome! It works well on the ipad. The celestial bodies (at least the ones I can see with my naked eye) are where the app shows you they are while you move your device around.

Okay app, wish it had more videos

I downloaded this with some trepidation, knowing that my toddler already likes the adult version. It took him about 20 minutes to watch all the videos, and after that he got angry because there werent any more. Id really like some videos about things like the seasons, the phases of the moon, tides, and such.

Another excellent app from Vito.

Had to add my voice to the reviews here. This is definitely a five star app. Room to grow, for sure, like add more videos for different astronomical bodies. And perhaps some games. But as is, awesome. Very fun and well made astronomical app. Very worth owning, along with the other editions of star walk.

Awesome!

My soon to be 5-year-old loved this app at first sight. We opened it for the first time and didnt stop exploring until an hour later. He loves the videos and he really is learning about the stars and space. I hope that more and more content will be added to this app over time.

Could be good

An impetuous purchase. Great idea but unfortunately didnt expect to find sounds bites missing; they were so limited to begin with. Oh well guess the kids will like it enough not together a refund. Not sure what to say when they realise some items have no voice explanation.

Awesome

Such a good program to help introduce your kids to the heavens. Easy to use and very informative. Very well made.

Great app for children

My kids love this & enjoy the informative clips and factoids! This is a nice introductory astronomy app for children to experience the night sky in a way they can relate to. I recommend it to anybody wanting to get their children interested in the sky. The app gets 4 stars because there are no settings you can adjust other than time of day and free look/manual viewing.

Star walk is better

My 6 year old is very interested in space. Im currently cleaning out our iPad and asked which apps to keep. When I asked about the star walk for kids, his response was "its terrible. Its full of pictures of things/animals/the ground. Its not real like the other star walk." So take that for what its worth. If you already have the original, like we did, and buy this because you think your kids will like it....think again. However if this is your kids first delve into space, they might love it.

Noisy

Why do we have to listen to birds chirping and other pointless sound effects while my child uses this app? Please, for the love of goodness, slap on your Thoughtful Developer Hat for a moment and give us the option to hush this app up.

Not working

As soon as I open the app it crashes. Not worth the three dollars. There are many better games about space for one dollar

Rotation vs Revolution?

Too bad- nice visuals for the age. Kept my 6 year old interested for a while. Unfortunately, I dont like to have to correct things that use the wrong terms. As a teacher, I have a hard enough time correcting misconceptions without an educational app saying the wrong things. Jupiter does not revolve on an axis, we do not rotate around the sun. If you want a better review, update this ASAP.
